Born in Burundi, raised in Belgium, citizen of the world, shaped by two exiles, more than forty countries and an unwavering humanist commitment — B. Claude Ntahuga delivers his first novel: an intimate and historical fresco about a Burundian childhood, the memory of the 1993 violence, and the quest for a reconciled identity.
« You don’t ask a man to choose between his mother and his wife. Burundi is my mother. Belgium is the wife I chose. I refuse the divorce. »
